Denise decided to be a lawyer in college. She had a friend who came from a family of lawyers who convinced her she could do it. Denise’s favorite aunt had been left by her husband some years prior, all alone with three children. He decided he wasn’t going to work anymore and provided no support for her or her children. Denise always wanted to help her aunt, and in family law she saw she could help people just like her aunt.
Before beginning her family law practice, she ran 13 judicial elections for the Democratic party in 1979 and 13 of her candidates won. She went on to begin a political career as the council to the women’s committee.
In 1987, Denise moved to Florida with her husband of 35 years. While she’s never been divorced herself, she understands divorce inside and out. She loves the human dynamic of law. Conflict and craziness are things that Denise knows how to control.
Not a week goes by that is absent of legal research. Staying on top of cases and attending seminars are constants in Denise’s life. Her expertise is now, and her studies benefit her client in that way.
