Exercises for overhead athletes with Physical Therapist Dr. Mary Kate

YouTube Wednesday! This week features a video from our #physicaltherapy department with Dr. Mary Kate!
Here are four arm care exercises you can do at home to maintain optimal #shoulderhealth! The first two are #D2flexion and #D2extension. These exercises help to increase strength throughout a throwing motion pattern. The following 2 are #internalrotation at 90 degrees and #externalrotation at 90 degrees. These are specifically designed to hit your #rotatorcuff muscles in a more overhead/throwing motion. General recommendations: perform these for 8-12 repetitions for 3 sets 2-3 times a week. For a #baseballpitcher in season, it would be beneficial to perform these the day after throwing to promote increased healing and blood flow to those muscles to improve recovery!
