NO FAULT DIVORCE
Nevada is a no-fault divorce state. This means that if you want a divorce, you do not have to accuse your spouse of adultery, abuse, or any other wrongdoing. Instead, all you have to allege is that you’re incompatible.
There are several advantages to filing for divorce first before your spouse. By filing first, you get to choose the time frame and venue, and if your case proceeds to trial, you would go first and be heard last. But there are disadvantages to filing first as well. The first to file spends more on court filing fees. And once you file, it may extinguish any chance there may have been of a reconciliation.
