Spouse’s attorney said I don’t need an attorney – to me translated to "you better get an attorney." I was threatened with my kids – didn’t take that garbage either and just signed a 50/50 custody agreement. Her lawyer is running up fees by changing things on her own, lying, tried tying the house to the parenting plan (yes, seriously) and asked for a ‘global agreement’ from me. How do you deal with a lawyer that you hired who is always waiting for the opposition side. An offer was made for settlement and my lawyer said I think they want equity from the house. Never propose the offer. This divorce is going on 3.5 years and appraisal is supposed to come out now after 6 months of not hearing anything?
On May 4, 2022 I got a restraining order a four year restraining order on my husband for domestic battery and destruction of property my question is since he cannot be around me or at the residence and I filed for divorce while he was incarcerated for a day would I be able to keep My home in a divorce settlement? I always knew there was a possibility she might be cheating on me but I didn’t have any evidence to prove that. Her phone has a password so there was no way I could have access to it. My husband told me : "we need to cut our finances. I am moving out next month". 25 year marriage I was stay at home mother. We were told to sell house ASAP in Oklahoma, both parties cooperate. He went and enlisted realtor without my knowledge, signed papers to list, show, advertising. A local realtor friend notified me my property was listed he refused to tell me who. She said it’s illegal without my signature. My attorney is not getting back to me about whether my legal rights have been violated. I want to sell the house and move on but not if done illegally. I also do not want to be in contempt of judges orders.
My estranged husband won’t get his belongings. He has been gone almost a year, Does not contribute to the house. My wife hired an attorney, but never submitted her mandatory disclosure/affidavits by the due date. Mediation couldn’t be scheduled due to this. Her lawyer hasn’t responded to any emails in weeks. Unfortunately, a motion to compel had to be filed due to the lack of response. My lawyer also sent a settlement offer to my wife’s lawyer during this process, but he said "i’m really busy and i never saw it". There’s no kids involved , this should’ve been a somewhat simple divorce, but it’s turning into an unnecessary nightmare. i can’t figure out what this woman or her lawyer is doing.
