  1. Paul gave the example of adultery in Rom. 7:2-3, yet STILL maintained that it was the husband’s DEATH that freed the wife to remarry—-not a divorce.

  2. Matthew 5:32 in that way to show that the woman Jesus is speaking about who is put away, is INNOCENT. The husband is charged with CAUSING her to commit adultery. If, as you believe, a woman is rightly discharged for adultery, and taking what you say in many other threads that the marriage is now dissolved, how then can she be charged with adultery (and the next husband) for marrying her?

    If a man puts away his wife FOR Porneia, then he ISN’T guilty of causing her to commit adultery…………..she is already guilty of that.

  3. She has kids, and her husband actually has a job. It sounds like she turned 35 and regretted marrying a lower class man. That isn’t grounds to divorce someone.

  4. As is shown even in the Matthew 19:9 passage, the INNOCENTLY put away spouse is NOT FREE…………the “bond” is NOT dissolved—even though the other has married again. If the bond were dissolved, then the “left” one would be free to marry another. We see the same teaching in Romans 7:2-3…………even if a woman DOES marry another (making her an adulteress), she will not be free from the bond of marriage until her 1st husband dies……………..THEN, and only then, will she be ‘free’ to marry another. Paul never, in ANY of his writings/teachings, says that divorce or adultery DISSOLVES the “one flesh” that endures until death—-quite the opposite.

  6. So there was no mention if the husband is a Christian or not, very important and extremely silly that the radio personality didn’t even enquire because Corinthians 7 may not apply. Second, she threw him out and now she accuses him of abandonment, really? Also there is zero ground for divorce due to abandonment in the Bible so that is completely irrelevant.

    In addition, the wife has a female pastor which which is heretical and not recognized by God so I to would never go to church with her. You didn’t inquire at all about the important points needed to make a decision, none. Sad all the way around.

  7. 1st problem your pastor is a she, got to a new church. Secondly the covenant is broken by death only. You are still bound BTW there are NO biblical grounds if there are please tell me where.

  10. “Romans 7” Paul is teaching is an analogy. The hearers understood that like a marriage being binding…………the Law holds sway over us. Freedom from a marriage comes through DEATH. Freedom from the penalty of the law came through Christ.

    • Mark 10:11 And > He [Jesus] < saith unto them, WHOSOEVER (any man) shall put away (divorced) his wife, and marry another (woman), commiteth adultery against her

    • Luke 16:18 WHOSOEVER (any man) putteth away (set free) his wife, and marrieth another (woman), committeth adultery: and WHOSOEVER marrieth her that is put away (divorced) from her husband committeth adultery.

    "ADULTERERS" DEFILE THEIR BODY… THIS GOD WILL JUDGE:

    The 1ST marriage is honorable:

    • Hebrews 13:4 MARRIAGE IS HONORABLE in all, and the bed undefiled: BUT > WHOREmongerS AND ADULTERERS GOD WILL JUDGE < [on Judgment Day]…

    "ADULTERERS" IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD?

    • I Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, NOr ADULTERERS, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, SHALL INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

    • Exodus 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    • Exodus 20:15 Thou shalt not steal (thy neighbor’s wife or husband).

    • Exodus 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife (or husband).

    • Proverbs 7:1-2 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

    • Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: FEAR GOD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

    • I John 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. < adulterers won’t receive the Holy Spirit, while living in adulterous marriages (1Cor. 6:9-10).

    MERCY EXTENDED:

    • Proverbs 28:13-14 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso CONFESSETH and FORSAKETH them shall have mercy. Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

    • Proverbs 16:6 By MERCY and TRUTH iniquity is purged: and by THE FEAR OF THE LORD men depart from evil.

    • Proverbs 21:21 He that followeth after RIGHTEOUSNESS and MERCY findeth life, righteousness, and honor.

    GOD’S CALL TO THE CHURCH:

    • Mark 8:34-38 And when he (Jesus) had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he (Jesus) said unto them, WHOSOEVER (anyone) WILL COME AFTER ME, LET HIM DENY HIMSELF, and TAKE UP HIS [own] CROSS, AND FOLLOW ME (not man). For WHOSOEVER (anyone) will save his life shall lose it; but WHOSOEVER (anyone) shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or > WHAT SHALL A MAN GIVE IN EXCHANGE FOR HIS SOUL? < WHOSOEVER (anyone) therefore SHALL BE ASHAMED OF ME AND of MY WORDS in this adulterous and sinful generation; OF HIM also SHALL THE SON OF MAN BE ASHAMED, WHEN HE COMEth in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

    PLANS TO REMARRY?

    • 1 Corinthians 7:27 (KJV) [1] Art thou bound unto a wife? [2] seek not to be loosed. [3] Art thou loosed from a wife? [4] seek not a wife.

    And to those questions are:

    1. The man is bound together, with the 1st wife (whether or not, physically together…as long as she’s still alive, he’s still married to her …"til death do us part").

    2. "Seek not to be loose"..

    Is not to go looking for another [wife], to be loose ("til death do us part").

    3. "Are you loose from a wife?"

    Is your [1st] wife dead? If no, then no, you’re not loose (til death do us part").

    4. "Seek not a [“2nd”] wife"

    "til death do us part" while the [1st] wife, is still alive.

    • 1 Corinthians 7:11

    [1] But and if she depart, [2] let her remain unmarried, [3] or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

    1. If she divorces her husband

    2. Remain unmarried

    3. Or reconcile (w/her [1st] husband)

    Adulterers are going to HELL:

  13. Scriptures Regarding: Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage

    COVENANT MARRIAGE is a "> ONE FLESH <“ RELATIONSHIP

    • Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall A MAN LEAVE HIS FATHER AND HIS MOTHER, AND SHALL CLEAVE UNTO HIS [1st] WIFE: AND THEY SHALL BE [come] > ONE < FLESH.

    No more twain (no remarriage allowed).

    • Matthew 19:5-6 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they twain shall be > ONE < flesh? Wherefore they are > NO MORE TWAIN < (NEVER AGAIN TWO), BUT > ONE FLESH <. What therefore GOD HATH > JOINED TOGETHER [into 1 < twain] <, let not man put asunder.

    • Mark 10:8-9 And they TWAIN [together] SHALL BE [come] ONE FLESH: SO then THEY ARE > NO MORE TWAIN< (never again two), BUT > ONE < FLESH. What therefore GOD HATH > JOINED TOGETHER [into 1] <, let not man put asunder.

    • Ephesians 5:31 For this cause shall A MAN leave his father and mother, AND shall be joined unto HIS WIFE, and they TWO [together] SHALL BE > ONE FLESH < (A NEW ‘BEING’ CREATED BY GOD – "ONE FLESH"< Gen 2:24)

    DIVORCE

    • Malachi 2:16 "For I hate divorce" says the Lord, the God of Israel, "and (I also hate) him who covers his garment with wrong," says the Lord of hosts. "So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously."

    REMARRIAGE

    During the Jewish Betrothal/Espousal (engagement) Period called “The Exception Clause”

    • Matthew 19:9 And I say unto you, WHOSOEVER (any man) shall PUT AWAY (set free) HIS WIFE, except it be for fornication AND shall MARRY ANOTHER [woman], COMMITeth ADULTERY, AND WHOSO MARRIeth HER WHICH IS PUT AWAY (set free) DOTH COMMIT ADULTERY.

    • Matthew 5:32 But I say unto you, That WHOSOEVER (any man) shall PUT AWAY (set free) HIS WIFE, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: > AND WHOSOEVER (any man) shall MARRY HER THAT IS DIVORCED COMMITteth ADULTERY.

    *Betrothal/Espousal verses>>>Mathew 1:18-19 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was ((((ESPOUSED)))) to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away (((DIVORCE))) privily.

    *Deuteronomy 22:13-14 If any man take a ((((WIFE,)))) and go in unto her, and hate her, And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, ((((I found her not a maid)))):<<<Found her not a ((((VIRGIN)))).

    *Deuteronomy 22:23-24 If a damsel that is a ((((VIRGIN ))))be ((((BETROTHED)))) unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour’s wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.

    *2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have ((((ESPOUSED)))) you to ((((ONE husband)))), that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

    To the non-Jews (us)

    • Mark 10:11-12 And he saith unto them, WHOSOEVER (any man) shall PUT AWAY (set free) HIS WIFE, AND MARRY ANOTHER (woman), COMMITteth ADULTERY AGAINST HER. AND IF A WOMAN shall PUT AWAY (set free) HER HUSBAND AND > BE MARRIED TO ANOTHER (man) <, SHE COMMITTETH ADULTERY.

    • Luke 16:18 WHOSOEVER PUTteth AWAY (set free) HIS WIFE. AND MARRIeth ANOTHER (woman), COMMITteth ADULTERY: AND WHOSOEVER MARRIeth HER (the divorced woman) THAT IS PUT AWAY (set free) from her husband COMMITteth ADULTERY.

    MARRIAGE BETWEEN A BELIEVER AND A NON BELIEVER:

    • 1 Corinthians 7:13-14 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

    • I Corinthians 7:15 But if the unbelieving depart (divorce/leaves), let him depart (divorce/leaves). A brother or a sister is not under bondage (such as taking care of each other’s needs: slave) in such cases: but God hath called us to peace…(v.39) THE WIFE IS BOUND [together] BY THE LAW (Gods Law) AS LONG AS HER HUSBAND LIVEth; BUT > IF< HER HUSBAND BE DEAD ("til death do us part"), SHE IS AT LIBERTY (free) TO be MARRIed to WHO SHE WILL; only in the Lord. < No other exception!

    1 Corinthians 7:15 refers to no more slavery, not “free” to remarry

    For instance, no more having to cook [for him/her], do his/her laundry, help pay his/her bills, take care of him/her health wise, his/her needs, etc. No more having to deal with him/her, whatsoever.

    If that scripture says it’s "ok" to remarry then why not all the rest of them?

    BIBLICAL COUNSEL IF DIVORCE HAPPENS:

    • I Corinthians 7:11 BUT and > IF SHE DEPART (divorces her husband), LET HER REMAIN UNMARRIED, OR BE RECONCILED TO HER HUSBAND <: and let not the husband put away his wife.

    "til death do us part" v

    • Romans 7:2-3 For THE WOMAN which HATH An HUSBAND IS > BOUND [together] < BY the law [of God] TO HER HUSBAND SO LONG AS HE LIVEth; BUT > IF < THE HUSBAND BE DEAD, SHE IS LOOSED [free] FROM THE LAW of her husband. SO THEN if, > WHILE HER HUSBAND LIVEth, SHE BE MARRIED TO ANOTHER MAN, SHE SHALL BE CALLED AN ADULTERESS < (<His Word, not mine): BUT > IF < HER HUSBAND BE DEAD, SHE IS FREE from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

    "WHOsoEVER" Refers to All Mankind (Saved and Unsaved)

    • John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER (any 1) BELEIVEth IN HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    During the Jewish Betrothal/Espousal (engagement) Period

    • Matthew 5:31-32 It hath been said WHOSOEVER (any man) shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But > I [Jesus] < say unto you, That WHOSOEVER (any man) shall put away (set free) his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery; and WHOSOEVER shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

    • Matthew 19:9 And > I [Jesus] < say unto you, WHOSOEVER shall put away (set free) his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another (man), committeth adultery: and WHOSO marrieth her which is put away (set free) doth commit adultery.⬇⬇⬇⬇
