Maintenance is the legal term for alimony in a divorce in Illinois. It’s a hot button topic that is commonly fought over in a divorce. In most cases, it is not agreed upon the beginning of a divorce, and some input from the judge is necessary – whether that’s in a formal hearing or an informal pretrial conference.
