im iraqi, my parents divorced after living in canada for 30 years, I think if we stayed in Iraq, this would not happen because in the west divorce is a big business and the legal system loves it because they will get paied, also there are no family around to advice them and the culture in the west defiantly encourages women to go running to the law courts to get divorced and get paied. I never thought this would happen. and with my respect, i think there is even no reason to get married the muslim way " mahr " ..etc because in the end if the divorce happens in a westren culture, it will not be done in the islamic way. so the man pays in the beginning and pays in the end. that is ridiculous.

Am i right to divorce my husband if:
– he asks my wealth money and gold and does not provide for me
– he avoids me in every ways
– He gives care protection concern and love to female cousins
– he asks my mahar back
– he tells he dont have experience to love a wife
– he makes lots of debts and expects me to pay off with what is given from my family
-he has no concern for my pains, my anxiety,depression

2 : 221. *And you don’t marry Mushrik women until they believe, a believing slave woman is better than a freed Mushrik woman even if they attract you. And you don’t make marry your daughters with Mushrik men until they believe; a believing slave man is better than a freed Mushrik man even if they attract you, those are calling into the Fire while Lord Allah calls to the Paradise and Forgiveness with His Permission, and He is explaining His verses for mankind, so that they may remind others in their heart’s language.*
Today, if Adhikr is utilized as the Criterion, Balance, and Insight, anyone can understand that different groups of the Arabic Quran reading Fujjar are the true Mushriks who associate others in the Dominion of Lord as explained in verse 2: 135. They are the true disbelievers as explained in verses 4: 150-151. They are the wrongdoers and Mujirims serving Satan as told in verses 6: 21 and 10: 17. It is told in verse 18: 101: “Those who didn’t see or hear the Book Dhikree are the disbelievers into Hell”. Those who are deaf and dumb towards Adhikr after receiving It are the worst creatures among thousand communities of Lord’s creatures as explained in verse 8: 22. The Trust Adhikr is revealed to punish the hypocritical men and women as well as Mushrik men and women as told in verses 33: 72-73; 48: 6 and 98: 6.
The believer can’t marry any woman belonging to the Fujjar who is serving Satan instead of serving Lord Allah. In these Last Days, the bachelor and spinster believers should accept the virgin Maryam (the mother of Jesus) as the role model, while the married believers should accept Asia (the woman of Pharaoh) as a role model as mentioned in verses 66: 11-12. The man and woman who are learning Adhikr and are trying to live under the Light of It can marry each other if they think that they can’t keep up chastity without marriage, and for not producing bastards. The believing man is allowed to marry a chaste woman belonging to ‘other people’ of Messenger’s community as explained in verse 5: 5. It is because the Lord has given man the controlling power upon the woman as told in verse 4: 34. In any case, a believing woman shouldn’t marry anyone from disbelievers. See explanation 2: 62, 185; 24: 3 and 31-32.

There needs to be some serious thought put into some of the mindset of remarriage. Most times to just keep getting married and divorced until you " get the it right one" is not wise. If you have met four people that have agreed to marry you and then turn around and you’re divorced again. You need to do some serious internal work before you enter another person’s life. Because there are people’s lives that are being affected by the actions of serial divorcees, children’s lives who are being affected. In the case of women doing something that needs to be put in place among the ummah where are these "Islamic " marriages can be tracked and sisters protected from these abusive men. Far too many of us have fallen prey to that type of mentality.

رَّبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ
يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِى عَلَى دِينِكَ
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
"Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous."
Surah Al-Furqan, Ayah 74
This is very sad Mufti Menk! It seems like you are encouraging family breakups! This was also not a great idea to talk about your own divorce in public! This is against Sunnah! Our beloved prophet PBUH did not divorce His wives. He was kind towards His wives even though sometimes His wives were not kind towards Him. This is a sad reality that in western culture, we are trying to modernise Islam and give a wrong impression. Divorce is not haram but this is the worst halal thing in the eyes of Allah SWT. Allah SWT loves peace and He loves unity! Not breakups! May Allah SWT guide you and guide others who are going through divorce for their ego problems. Yes! It’s EGO! We should fight our own Ego! Not the partners! Have mercy.. show mercy! Peace..
